Brokeback King

George Clooney was on Larry King's show last night and within minutes had Larry under his spell. I felt like at the end Larry was going to shout "I wish I knew how to quit you".

When the topic of Brad Pitt came up, Larry couldn't accept that George and Brad weren't best pals.

GC: We talk, you know, when you say very good friends he’s not — I have my friends and then I have sort of my showbiz friends and showbiz friends are people that you actually care about and spend a little time with but it’s not like we call each other every day or something like the...

(Since when are showbiz friends, the ones you care about? George has no friends outside showbiz?)

LK: Oh, you’re not like friend friends?

GC: Yes, we don’t, you know, it’s not like we go, I mean he’s come to my house and stayed and, you know, like that but it’s not like we, you know, we go backpacking together.

Larry was relentless, he had to know if they were pals and brought it up again a few minutes later.

LK: Do you keep in — you don’t keep in close touch though?

GC: I do. I mean I talk to him probably once a month or so.

Larry brought up Scary Hatcher:

LK: Now, one of the first things you told me last night, I'm not involved with Teri Hatcher!!.

GC: I didn't say that. Are you crazy?
(He looks embarassed, as if Larry wasn't suppose to share this news, especially with such enthusiasm, as if George told him off air very emphatically)

LK: Are you not involved with her? That's been written about.

GC: It's been written, I know.

George then goes on to say he doesn't talk about his private life and would not confirm or deny the Scary connection.
