Nominations are announced Tuesday.
Best Pic
Babel
Dreamgirls
The Departed
Little Miss Sunshine
The Queen
Wouldnt it be cool if they nominated: The Prestige, Borat
Best Director
Martin Scorsese (The Departed)
Bill Condon (Dreamgirls)
Alejandro González Iñárritu (Babel)
Stephen Frears (The Queen)
Clint Eastwood (Letters From Iwo Jima)
Usually the Best Picture/Best Director noms don't match up, and there is one picture who doesnt have a nominated director, leading people to say "did the film direct itself?" I think the Little Miss Sunshine people could get knocked out and replaced with Eastwood.
Best Actor
Forest Whitaker (Last King of Scotland)
Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed)
Peter O'Toole (Venus)
Will Smith (Pursuit of Happyness)
Leonardo for Blood Diamond???
Cool if: Sacha Baron Cohen, Daniel Craig for Bond
Best Actress
Helen Mirren (The Queen)
Judi Dench (Notes on a Scandal)
Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada)
Penelope Cruz (Volver)
Kate Winslet (Little Children)
Supporting Actor
Eddie Murphy (Dreamgirls)
Alan Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine)
Jackie Earle Haley (Little Children)
Djimon Honsou (Blood Diamond)
Brad Pitt (Babel)
Cool if: The actor who played Tony Blair in The Queen, Steve Carrell in Little Miss Sunshine, the fat guy in Borat!
Supporting Actress
Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls)
Rinko Kikuchi (Babel)
Adriana Barraza (Babel)
Cate Blanchett (Notes on a Scandal)
Toni Collette or Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine)
Anyone have any suggestions? Did I miss someone? Will there be a Chocolat, ie: movie that surprises everyone that it was nominated?
