Mel Gibson tells Diane Sawyer that it was the tequila talking we he went on his famous rant, and later tells her he thought of Nick Nolte's mugshoot when it came time to take his picture, so he splashed water on his face and fixed his hair. Now how can he remember that if he was in an alcohol induced stupor?
Gibson also said he has apologized “more than anyone I know.”
“It’s getting old,” he said.
Oh really? Know what else is getting old? Your toupee, your attitude, your homophobicness...oh I could go on but I wont.

Mel is assuming that a stint in rehab, a series of apologies and a round of talk shows will put him on top. And he's rushing to get there. I think most people will agree that what comes out of a drunk's mouth is usually the thuth they keep inside.
