Ok, so maybe a handful of our readers will appreciate this, and some wont know who Im talking about, but here it goes.
Last weekend I ventured to the casino up north for the Rick Springfield/Eddie Money concert.
Eddie was the opening act, which meant most people were in the beer garden. My sister kept saying "poor little pinkus" about Eddie (a Seinfeld reference) because it didnt seem like people were really into Eddie, although he has more good songs than you think...seriously.
Eddie signed autographs after the show at a back table, and luckily had a fairly long line. The hilarious thing is he would introduce himself as "Eddie Money rock and roll".
We all went to our seats when it was time for Rick, and a few of us ran to the grassy area near the front. Some nerdy football player wannabe bouncer put the flashlight in our eyes and threatened to throw us out. He was straight out of South Park. I expected him to say "Respect my authority". He was so mean to a Rick Springfield crowd. I wondered what he did when a more rowdier crowd showed up.
Rick asked if any of us saw a movie he was in and we all screamed "Hard to Hold"...duh. As soon as there was a pause in the crowd I shouted "you've got a nice a**!" (he shows it in Hard to Hold). I know, I make fun of classless celebs and I go and do that. But Rick looked at me and I blew him a kiss. Ha ha! I love being in the 80's again. If only for a few hours.
Rick went into the crowd and as he ran by me I wiped my hand on his sweaty arm. My sister had to top me of course. As he ran down the aisle she jumped in front of him with her arms out and he gave her a hug. The 80's rule.
