Right now on CNN.com there is a red banner with "Breaking News>> Grammy-winning singer Whitney Houston has filed for divorce from husband Bobby Brown, her publicist tells The Associated Press."
This is right above a picture about the college shooting. They really have some nerve. Mainly because Whitney leaving Bobby shouldnt be a surprise to anyone, but also because after 9/11 I think we're all on edge when we see "breaking news". Reporting on a divorce in the same manner you would real problems in the world seems a bit whack, like crack.**
UPDATE:
CNN has added "Breaking News" to the college shooting story. They still have the Whitney story as Breaking as well.
UPDATE:
CNN has taken the Whitney Divorce Breaking News banner off the home page. They tried for awhile to have dueling Breaking News stories- with Whitney and Bobby losing out to the fact that there could be crazed gunmen on the lose.
