While Joaquin has always been a little off- whether that could be from his hippie childhood, witnessing his brother die or working around the sleestack-like aliens on Signs- he was beyond off last night.
At first it seemed like Letterman was in on it, but then Letterman said "Joaquin, sorry you couldn't be here" and "we need to apologize to Farrah Fawcett". I would think the studio behind Joaquin's latest movie would be ticked at this behavior. Sure, all he did was just sit there. But his inability to be able to utter a simple answer was annoying.
*It has been speculated for months that Joaquin is pretending to quit acting for hip hop as part of some mockumentary.
