Good Year For Movies

Remember when Crash won Best Picture? Oy. Film makers took note, and stepped it up with great movies in 2007.

There were many standouts that could be nominated for Best Picture: No Country For Old Men, Into the Wild, Michael Clayton, Gone Baby Gone, Eastern Promises, Juno, 3:10 to Yummy and those are just the ones I've seen.

Unlike the Golden Globes, the Directors Guild of America did not snub the ever-deserving Sean Penn from their list of nominees, announced today:

Paul Thomas Anderson, There Will Be Blood
Joel and Ethan Coen, No Country for Old Men
Tony Gilroy, Michael Clayton
Sean Penn, Into the Wild
Julian Schnabel, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

Great that they recognize Michael Clayton, a movie that made me want to literally stand up and start cheering.

Next step after standing up and cheering, is to participate in your local caucus.
